CHILI COOK OFF

 

Located in the Depot Street Parking Lot, the annual Winterfest Chili Cook Off is a chance for residents and restaurant owners and even groups to represent their best pots of chili! There are trophies and prizes in three categories: Private entry, commercial entry, and People’s Choice.

All chili samples are FREE while they last!

LEGO

ALL NEW for Winterfest 2018 – it’s the Big LEGO Build Off! Located at the Geneva American Legion Hall on Park Street, the LEGO Build Off is FUN and FREE and we provide all the LEGO’s! Kids can play as long as they like. Be the City Church will help local students with a FREE mid-year school supply stock up.

STUFF THE RACECAR

Enter to win Cleveland Cavaliers tickets when you bring non-perishable food items and Stuff the Race Car for the Geneva Food Pantry. Sponsored by ASMGi and the Painesville Speedway, you can also enter to win for $1 a ticket. Stuff the Race Car is located at the Depot Street Lot next to the Chili Cook Off.

HOT CHOCOLATE BAR

Sponsored by The Lakehouse Inn and Winery at Geneva-on-the-Lake, the Winterfest Hot Chocolate Bar is a great way to warm up! The Hot Chocolate Bar is located at the Depot Street Lot next to the Chili Cook Off.

CRAFT SHOW

A Winterfest tradition, the annual Craft Show is a great way to warm up and do some shopping! Check it out at the Geneva Recreation Center.

FIRE DEPARTMENT ACTIVITIES

Munch on Dunkin Donuts Munchkins and hot chocolate at the Geneva Fire Department and take a firehouse tour, see the fire trucks, listen to music, and get your blood pressure checked!

PANCAKE BREAKFAST

The fun kicks off on Saturday at with an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast at the United Methodist Church on South Broadway from 9 a.m. until noon. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children for the breakfast. To-go orders will be available.

KIDS TALENT SHOW

At the Geneva Community Center, kids can show off their talent and win prizes at the Geneva Kids Talent Show. Acts are 5 minutes long and can be any kid of talent your child wants to show off! Kids (and groups) can compete in two age groups: 0-8 and 9-14. Pre-registration is FREE and REQUIRED. This event is sponsored by Coldwell Banker.

COOKIE DECORATING CONTEST

Show off your cookie decorating skills with the Geneva Giant Eagle Cookie Decorating Contest at the Geneva Community Center. Make your cookie creation, snap a picture and post to Facebook and tag @GenevaWinterfest to enter to WIN a prize for best cookie! All supplies are provided, and this activity is FREE for kids while supplies last!

KIDS VENDOR SHOW

It’s time to get out of the house! Browse the Winterfest “Things to Do” vendor show at the Geneva Community Center for kids to sign up for lessons, classes, groups and more. Want to show off your kid-centric group, club, or business? Register for a table HERE.

KENT STATE ICE CARVING

Kent State University Hospitality Management students will turn ice into art at Rotary Pavilion from noon to 4 p.m. Watch the ice and snow fly as they create amazing sculptures right before your eyes.

EAGLES RUMMAGE SALE

Search for treasures at the Fraternal Order of Eagles indoor rummage sale at the FOE Hall on West Main Street. Fifteen tables are available for rent. Each table costs $10. For more information or to rent a space, call 466-4225. The sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and admission is free. Shoppers can enjoy free hot chocolate and coffee as they browse.

SPAGHETTI DINNER

Mangia, Mangia! The Geneva Veterans of Foreign Wars post on Depot Street will host a spaghetti dinner from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets will be sold at the door.

CARRIAGE RIDES

Take a magical ride through historic Downtown Geneva with the Whispery Pines Percherons Carriage Rides & Logging horses! All rides are FREE.

PARADE

The Winterfest parade will begin at noon on North and South Broadway and will include floats, fire trucks, marching bands, and the Winterfest mascot Lake Effect Louie, and the outgoing and new Miss Winterfest courts.

WINE TASTING AT OLD MILL WINERY

The Old Mill Winery on South Broadway will host a wine tasting and entertainment from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Wine is 50 cents per taste and the kitchen will be open and taking orders.
