PARADE

The Winterfest parade will begin at noon on North and South Broadway and will include floats, fire trucks, marching bands, and the Winterfest mascot Lake Effect Louie, and the outgoing and new Miss Winterfest courts.

IN THE DEPOT STREET LOT:

CHILI COOK OFF

 

Located in the Depot Street Parking Lot, the annual Winterfest Chili Cook Off is a chance for residents and restaurant owners and even groups to represent their best pots of chili! There are trophies and prizes in three categories: Private entry, commercial entry, and People’s Choice. The Chili Cook Off starts at noon.

All chili samples are FREE while they last!

CARRIAGE RIDES

Take a magical ride through historic Downtown Geneva with the Whispery Pines Percherons Carriage Rides & Logging horses! All rides are FREE.

HOT CHOCOLATE BAR

Sponsored by The Lakehouse Inn and Winery at Geneva-on-the-Lake, the Winterfest Hot Chocolate Bar is a great way to warm up! The Hot Chocolate Bar is located at the Depot Street Lot next to the Chili Cook Off.

VINTAGE SNOWMOBILE SHOW

Take a walk through snowmobile history in the Depot Street Lot at the NEW vintage snowmobile show!

AT THE GENEVA RECREATION CENTER:

LEGO

Big LEGO Build Off is back! Located at the Geneva Recreation Center, the LEGO Build Off is FUN and FREE and we provide all the LEGO’s! Kids can play as long as they like. Open from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.

MEET ANNA AND ELSA

Disney Princesses Anna & Elsa will be at the Geneva Recreation Center for hugs and pictures. Volunteers from Geneva Parents for School Safety will offer FREE mini manicures for kids ages 12 and under.

AT THE GENEVA COMMUNITY CENTER:

KIDS TALENT SHOW

At the Geneva Community Center, kids can show off their talent and win prizes at the Geneva Kids Talent Show. Acts are 5 minutes long and can be any kid of talent your child wants to show off! Kids (and groups) can compete in two age groups: 0-8 and 9-14. Pre-registration is FREE and REQUIRED. This event is sponsored by Coldwell Banker.

GONG SHOW

Adults can “get the gong” at the NEW Winterfest Gong Show, sponsored by Coldwell Banker, Hunter Realty. Pre-registration is FREE and REQUIRED.

JUNGLE TERRY AND FRIENDS

Always a wild time, kids and adults alike will get to learn about Jungle Terry’s animal pals. From snakes to turtles to birds to more snuggly creatures, it’s hard not to smile at Terry’s stories and invitations to interact with his animal friends. The show is free at 2:30 p.m.

COOKIE DECORATING

Show off your cookie decorating skills with the Geneva Giant Eagle Cookie Decorating Station at the Geneva Community Center. Make your cookie creation! All supplies are provided, and this activity is FREE for kids while supplies last!

NEW FOR WINTERFEST 2019! Kent State Ashtabula presents the Ice Bar at Luisa’s Mexican Grill! Sample Kent State, Grand River Cellars, and Lakehouse Winery wines at Geneva’s ONLY bar made entirely of ICE!

Munch on Dunkin Donuts Munchkins and hot chocolate at the Geneva Fire Department and take a firehouse tour, see the fire trucks, and listen to music by Susan Hagan.

AT GENEVA UNITED METHODIST CHURCH:

PANCAKE BREAKFAST

The fun kicks off on Saturday at with an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast at the United Methodist Church on South Broadway from 9 a.m. until noon. THIS BREAKFAST IS FREE!

MOVIE: FROZEN

Warm up with the Disney movie FROZEN at the Geneva United Methodist Church! The movie starts at 2 p.m. and is open for people to come in and get warm!

AT ROTARY PAVILION:

KENT STATE ICE CARVING

Kent State University Hospitality Management students will turn ice into art at Rotary Pavilion from noon to 4 p.m. Watch the ice and snow fly as they create amazing sculptures right before your eyes.

AT THE GENEVA FOE:

EAGLES RUMMAGE SALE

Search for treasures at the Fraternal Order of Eagles indoor rummage sale at the FOE Hall on West Main Street. Fifteen tables are available for rent. Each table costs $10. For more information or to rent a space, call 466-4225. The sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and admission is free. Shoppers can enjoy free hot chocolate and coffee as they browse.

AT THE GENEVA VFW:

SPAGHETTI DINNER

Mangia, Mangia! The Geneva Veterans of Foreign Wars post on Depot Street will host a spaghetti dinner from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets will be sold at the door.

AT OLD MILL WINERY:

WINE TASTING AT OLD MILL WINERY

The Old Mill Winery on South Broadway will host a wine tasting and entertainment from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Wine is 50 cents per taste and the kitchen will be open and taking orders.
